I was born in '86 but it was pretty much the same story here too. Cell phones and the internet weren't really huge (like they are now) till I was nearly an adult. I also remember when Facebook was for college students only to connect with high school friends when I first signed up. I do wish sometimes we could return to simpler times because now with my own little girl I have to worry about cyber bullying, online stalkers, making sure she's not a childhood obesity statistic (she's so slender I probably don't have to worry), and how to to help pay for her education when tuition costs are rising. So TRUE! I've had lots of conversations with friends before, about a lot of what was mentioned in the video... Times certainly have changed from when we were kids! Thank you for sharing this video with us Sher!
"Freedom, Failure, Success and Responsibility" Great words!
Just within the past 10-20 years the technological advances have been so rapid in growth that it's made even the 80s feel like a century ago. And wasn't it great when life was more simple too? Wouldn't it be great if the only practice drills that the kids of today's world had to do were earthquake and other natural disaster drills, rather than the worry of school shootings and such? Aaaahh...The ways of back in the day. And besides technology, it's crazy to think of how the generations change so drastically! Things change, and they change fast. Great video - thanks for sharing! =0)~Kim
I can totally relate. I sometimes long for those simpler, less hectic times.
Born in the 60's it's a wonder I did make it to adulthood! LOL!
Interesting. He didn't mention no seat belts, but most of us didn't wear those either. Plus, I remember sometimes riding in the bed of a pick-up truck, especially in high school. Life has changed, for sure.
